Are you planning a SPRING marathon and looking for a group training program that will help you get to spring in your best shape ever, and provide you with expert coaching guidance, group runs, free seminars, and a highly detailed 15-week training plan outlining every training session and detail you will need for success? If so, problem solved! More details on the program will be coming soon at coach-al.com, but here are the BASICS:
WHAT and for WHO: Marathon training program for intermediate to advanced runners who are preparing for a spring marathon. The timing of the program coincides with Boston, although you could easily be preparing for another spring marathon, modifying the program schedule to suit your own scheduling needs (with advice from Coach Al).
WHERE: Based at Fleet Feet Hartford.
HOW LONG: 15 weeks, beginning with a Introductory CLINIC and INFO session on Sunday, December 3, 2009. *Note: December 3rd is 15 weeks from Boston Marathon weekend.
WHAT’S INCLUDED:
Detailed and customized 15-week training plan written by Coach Al for this program, modified for each participant’s goal pace and goal finish time.
A copy of Coach Al’s Core/Functional Strength DVD and Audio CD, Runner-CORE (integrated into the plan – you’ll know when to use it and how to use it!)
Weekly group LONG runs and TRACK sessions including functional strength: Many will be coached workouts! More info to come…
Every 3rd week at Fleet Feet: mid-week group meeting and seminars with guest presenters at Fleet Feet, on a variety of topics of interest to you and your marathon preparation including topics like injury prevention, pilates, nutrition/diet, recovery, stretching, tapering, warm up and cool down, etc.

Join Coach Al, Todd and Lisbeth Kenyon for a comprehensive 1x per month, 5month long "wintertime" SWIM
WORKSHOP series which will be taking place at the pool at Providence
College.
Each session will be 3 hours (7am-10am), and includes our unique "I-
PUMA (instant poolside underwater motion analysis videotaping),
instant coach feedback, training on the Vasa Ergometer, regular ondeck
training/coaching, and athlete "packets" including homework to be done
in between clinics. And, it will be limited to a small number of
athletes, to maximize coach/athlete interaction.
The sessions do start
EARLY, but the benefit to that is that you will be done by midday, and
have the remainder of the day for your own use.
This is an opportunity to get tremendous ONE ON ONE coaching,
continuous feedback, regular videotaping on an ongoing basis
throughout the wintertime, and in essence, is GUARANTEED to have you
swimming easier and faster by the time the spring comes around.
