About Me
Welcome! Who am I? I am an endurance sports coach and love it! I’ve been coaching endurance athletes “formally” since 1999, and a few years ago, decided to form my own coaching company, calling it Pursuit Fitness! I have most of the requisite certifications: USA Triathlon, USA Cycling, the National Strength and Conditioning Association, and the American Swim Coaches Association. I am also certified with Functional Movement Systems (FMS) in the Functional Movement Screen, as well as a Medical-Motion Clinical Running Gait Analysis expert (http://www.medical-motion.com/)
More importantly, my approach and beliefs about the best ways to train for endurance sports, developed through practical experience over 25 years as an athlete and “experimenter” have been considered by many others to be cutting-edge and “out of the box” thinking.
My approach to coaching revolves around a more holistic, balanced approach that includes Yoga, flexibility and mobility training, and smart functional strength training. Most importantly, I feel that a balanced approach that blends training and racing goals within the context of the “triangle of life,” which is family, work, and sport, is the most important element for success over the long term.
